Awe and Wonder

ree

I’ve seen some amazing sights in this first week in Iceland. You know what’s true for all of them??

I had to leave the comfort of my bed, the familiar of the place I’m staying and I had to go out from here.

There is a time to be in a place - to soak, to be still, to abide in that place.

And then there is a time to go - to experience and to be among things and people to encounter, beyond the place where we live.

It was interesting that the most amazing sights weren’t seen from the road. They required a hike, an intentionality towards something.

Guard Your Heart

Do you know this children’s song?

Oh, be careful little eyes what you see.

Oh, be careful little ears what you hear.

For the Father up above is looking down with love, so be careful little eyes what you see.

Proverbs 4:23 says, “Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life.”

Live in TODAY

Each morning, we check the morning glories growing on the back porch. Did you know the bloom lasts only one day?

One day. They live it in all of its fullness. God designed it to live just one day - a new one every morning.

Daughter of God, consider the morning glory that does what it is designed to do today. It’s not concerned about tomorrow or yesterday. It’s not concerned about the afternoon heat. It simply blooms in all its beauty.

I pray you bloom today - a big, bold bloom that gives God glory.

Checking on them every morning is a delight that has no words. It blows me away that they are all so different. Mostly their variations of white was tiny, stripes, and larger stripes of the purple. And these purple ones happen it is incredible!

The delight is pure, and I always remember the verses that say, the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning, Great. This is faithfulness.

Find Me

Recently, a friend shared about her trip to Southeast Asia. She stood on the beach and looked out at the horizon and heard these words in her spirit, “ I am beyond what you can see.”

Her gaze lifted to the heavens. Again, God spoke in her spirit, “ I am beyond what you can see.”

In a few moments she was pondering the depths of the ocean. The same message returned in the depth of our soul, “ I am beyond what you can see.”

Then God spoke two simple words to her…

Find Me.
